Well, the biggest concert of the season played the Tacoma Dome on Saturday night. Lee Ann Womack, Reba and George Strait. All I can say is wow! 5 hours of music, not to bad for a concert. Lee Ann Womack did her thing good, then Reba took the stage..Can you say..."Phenominal".....What a great entertainer! She sure knows how to work the crowd, and of course her music,,,I am a huge George Strait lover, but the energy level went down a few steps after Reba and when George took the stage. We all know what to expect from George. He doesnt need the glamour and glitz, He relies on his voice and his music to do the talking, He is a class act, but so is Reba and Lee Ann Womack... I hope you got to experience the concert! I hope George continues to tour and makes his way to the Northwest more than every 3 or 4 years!

The Polar Plunge!

Well, I did it,,,I took the Plunge and you know...It really wasnt all that bad...All worked up for nothing...The water at Sarge Hubbard Park Pond was a balmy 36 degrees and the air temp was around 50. Yeah the water was a bit nippy, but it was for a good cause, the Special Olympics. Thanks to all who donated for me to take the Plunge...I raised a little over $500.00...Altogether everyone raised a little less than $10,000.00 for Special Olympics..Thank You so much.. Here is the video of me taking the Plunge!

Ok, Im not a big American Idol fan. After the audition shows, its just one big karoke competition. However, they have moved the show up a notch or two, at least the finale. Who would of thought, The Black Eyed Peas, Carlos Santana, Rod Stewart, Keith Urban and KISS would perform on American Idol. When I saw KISS on the finale show, I thought, hey, this show is pretty cool....Oh yeah, what an upset! Adam was the heavy favorite, but Chris won....Im not saying I'll watch it again in January, but who knows

Walking With Dinosaurs

Well, when I heard Walking With Dinosaurs was going to be in the sundome, I thought...What is that? So I googled it and when I saw the video of the show, I thought, I had to go. So, I did. My wife and I went and left our 3 year old home (not alone) ha ha! When we walked into the Sundome, I didnt know what to expect. When the show started, total amazement. The narrator was great, the Sundome totally transformed into the Dinosaur periods and the Dinosaurs were phenominal. It was a great show, one of the best that has come to Yakima.

Twilight, is the craze

Ok, Ive heard alot about Twilight and all I knew it was about Vampires. Well, it is, sort of. My wife read the 1st Twilight book and wanted to see the movie, so over the weekend we rented Twilight. I really didnt know what to expect. I was pleasently surprised. Yes, it is about Vampires, however it is about so much more. Like a love story between Bella and Edward. I can see how tweens, teens, 20's, 30's and even 40's can like this book and movie. After all it was almost filmed completely in Forks, Washington. If you get the chance, rent Twilight, or read the book, I dont think you will be disappointed. Plus the music in the movie is awesome....

White Pass

Midweek already, wow! Its been a busy week on the radio. With giving away WWE tickets and qualifying listeners for Brad Paisley tickets, alot of fun that's for sure. Now Taylor Swift is coming to Yakima. I guess Yakima is becoming a concert mecca..Its good that these acts are coming here, hey, its better than driving to Seattle to see them!

I recently took a day off to go skiing at White Pass. It was good to get up in the mountains for the day. The air is cleaner and crisper and it really energizes you. If you havnt been to White Pass, or if its been along time since you've been there, you should drive the short 50 miles. It's a beautiful drive, once you turn on Hwy 12. The skiing was great! I am excited about the White Pass expansion, cant wait to ski hogback basin.

A new week

Where did the weekend go? I guess its true what they say, time flies when you're having fun! I guess all eyes are on the economy and what Pres. Obama is up to. Well, he has already did 2 things that I strongly disagree with, but I guess its pretty much of the norm with a new president to start changing policy.

Whew what a week. A new president inaugerated, the economy still down and really no sign yet of improving. Hey, but at least the sun came out for about a minute or two today... :-) Im looking forward to the weekend. Might go Skiing, or I just might stay home and relax. Have a great weekend!

Another Year

Well, another year has gone by, where did the time go. Having a 2 1/2 year old son makes you realize how precious time really is. Need Something To Do

If you are bored one weekend and need something to do, why not take the short drive to the Oak Creek Feeding station and check out all of the elk. If you dont know this, hundreds and hundreds of elk come down from the mountains to feed on hay which is donated from area ranchers and farmers. My wife and my 2 1/2 year old son and me went to see them recently. As soon as my son saw the elk, he said, ” Look at the aminals”, how cute is that?
